DISOBBEDIENZA ANIMALE

Direct action

The images of animal sanctuaries inspire us every day, as an evidence showing that it is possible to question and transform the way we look at other animals.

Disobbedienza Animale, our street activism branch, brings the stories of free animals to the city, experimenting with a new outreach format based on positive communication.

We want to tell and make more and more people aware of the existence of these places.

Promoting a different relationship with other living species.
It also creates a public solidarity movement towards all animal sanctuaries, which are still invisible under Italian law.

Education

To transform the current food system based on animal exploitation we must also revolutionise an entire cultural and political apparatus of beliefs, languages, laws, …

We believe that training and lessons, and the people who attend the classes play a key role in this change.

This is why we carry out educational and training courses in schools and universities, organise and take part in conferences and seminars, bringing our experience and talking about the possibility of a different relationship with other living species.

But also addressing important and topical issues such as the environmental impact of animal farming industries, climate change and the benefits of a plant-based diet accessible to all.

Intersezionality

We want a truly inclusive justice that leaves no one behind.

This is why we are constantly intersecting our activism with that of others committed to social and climate justice.

But also by participating in events, assemblies, meetings and intersectional workshops.

Bearing witness

Disobbedienza Animale, our street activism branch, periodically organises direct actions in front of slaughterhouses.

The aim is to document the arrival of the trucks full of animals and to tell their stories by giving visibility to their existence, suffering and resistance.

Our presence is important to expose the truth behind these facilities and draw public attention to animal suffering and exploitation.

We cannot continue to ignore the impact of the animal farming industry in terms of animal suffering, the eco-climatic crisis, global warming and other phenomena that are destroying the planet.

The time has come for this industry to take responsibility and for institutions to understand the urgency of transforming this food system that is violent towards animals and unsustainable in terms of environmental costs.
